Edahabia card in 2026: how to get it, activate it, pay online, fees and limits

Everything about Algérie Poste’s gold card: who can apply and how, collecting and activating it, the PIN, paying online, the 2026 fees and daily limits, and what to do when the card is lost, blocked or refused.

Edahabia, the “gold card”, is the debit card attached to an Algérie Poste CCP account. More than ten million Algerians carry one. It withdraws cash at post office and bank ATMs, pays in shops with a terminal, pays online on Algerian sites such as Mobilis, Sonelgaz or Algérie Télécom, and is the key to the BaridiMob app. Since July 2025, new cards are the “Edahabia classic” model, valid four years instead of two.

What you can do with Edahabia

Withdraw cash

At any Algérie Poste ATM, and at bank ATMs in Algeria, 24 hours a day.

Pay in shops

On card terminals (TPE) in shops, pharmacies, fuel stations and agencies, and by QR code with BaridiPay.

Pay online

On Algerian sites: Mobilis, Djezzy, Ooredoo, Sonelgaz, Algérie Télécom, AADL, Air Algérie, CNRC and many shops.

Use BaridiMob

The card is needed to sign up to BaridiMob for transfers, bill payments and cardless withdrawals.

How to apply for an Edahabia card

You need a CCP account first. If you do not have one, open it at any post office with your national ID card.

  1. At the post office: ask at the counter with your national ID and your CCP number. You choose the office where you will collect the card.
  2. In BaridiMob: if you already use the app (for example with an old card), order a new or replacement card from the Requests menu.
  3. Home delivery: Algérie Poste offers a premium option in which the card is delivered to your door by EMS. It is requested through the official ECCP app.
  4. Check that the phone number on your CCP account is up to date when you apply: it will receive every payment code.
03

Collecting and activating the card

  • Algérie Poste sends an SMS when the card is ready. Delays vary by office; in busy periods they have stretched to several weeks.
  • Collect it in person at the chosen post office with your ID. If you moved, change the collection office in BaridiMob (Requests › Change of address) before it ships.
  • The PIN comes in a separate sealed letter. Memorise it and destroy the letter.
  • Do a first operation at an Algérie Poste ATM, such as a balance check, to activate the card. Activation can take up to 24 hours.
  • Then sign up to BaridiMob with the card number and expiry date.
04

The PIN: forgotten, blocked or changed

  • Three wrong PIN attempts block the card. Go to the post office to unblock it.
  • If you forgot the PIN, reprint it in BaridiMob (Requests › Reprint PIN code) for 200 DA, or ask at the post office.
  • The BaridiMob password is a different code from the card PIN. Keep them different.
  • Nobody from Algérie Poste will ever ask for your PIN by phone or message.
05

Paying online with Edahabia

Online payment works on Algerian merchant sites that accept the gold card. The payment page belongs to Algérie Poste, not to the shop.

  • On the shop or biller site, choose Edahabia (sometimes shown as “carte d’or” or “CIB / Edahabia”).
  • On the Algérie Poste payment page, enter the 16-digit card number, the expiry date, the cardholder name and the 3-digit CVV2 on the back.
  • Confirm with the one-time code sent by SMS to the phone number linked to your CCP. On some pages you can identify with BaridiMob instead.
  • Keep the receipt. If money was taken but the service did not arrive, the receipt is what support will ask for.
  • Online payments are free for the cardholder; the merchant pays the commission.

Edahabia fees in 2026

The figures below were reported in October 2026 from Algérie Poste’s tariff conditions. Check the post office for any change.

Card

350 DA to create, renew or replace a card. On the classic card the fee is charged every two years.

PIN and blocking

200 DA to reprint the PIN; 30 DA to block or cancel a card.

ATM withdrawal

30 DA at an Algérie Poste ATM; 35 DA at a bank ATM, whatever the amount.

Counter withdrawal

18 DA plus 2 DA per 1,000 DA up to 18,000 DA, then rising. Below about 6,000 DA the counter is cheaper than the ATM; above it, the ATM wins.

Free for you in shops and online. BaridiMob itself costs 50 DA to join and 50 DA a month.

07

Daily limits

ATM withdrawal

Up to 50,000 DA per day on the classic card.

Shop terminals

Up to 200,000 DA per day.

08

The new “Edahabia classic” card

Since 20 July 2025, every new card is issued in the Edahabia classic design. It is valid four years instead of two, and the 350 DA fee is taken every two years. Functions do not change: withdrawals, payments, balance and transfers work as before. Algérie Poste has also announced tiered cards for the months ahead, with higher limits and extra benefits on the upper tiers, but has not published their fees yet.

09

Lost or stolen card

  • Act straight away: until the card is frozen, it can be used.
  • Suspend it in BaridiMob, or go to the nearest post office and ask for it to be blocked (30 DA).
  • Order a replacement in BaridiMob or at the counter (350 DA). The new card comes with a new PIN.
  • Check recent operations in BaridiMob and report anything you did not make to the post office with your ID.
10

When the card is refused

  • The card is not yet activated: do a first operation at an Algérie Poste ATM and wait up to 24 hours.
  • The card is blocked after three wrong PINs, or has expired. Check the date on the front.
  • The daily limit is reached. Wait until the next day or use another channel.
  • Online: the SMS code goes to an old number. Update your number at the post office.
  • Online: the site does not accept Edahabia, only CIB. Look for the Edahabia logo before you start.
  • Money taken but nothing received: file a claim with the receipt at the post office or by calling 1530. Deadlines are 45 days for Mobilis or Djezzy payments, 90 days for Algérie Télécom and 98 days for a bank ATM.
11

Edahabia and abroad

Edahabia is a national card. It does not work in foreign shops or on foreign websites, and it is not a Visa or Mastercard. For travel or foreign subscriptions you need an international card from a bank (see our guide to international cards and the travel allowance). If you live abroad, you can still keep a CCP and Edahabia to pay Algerian bills for your family, as long as the phone number linked to the account can receive SMS.

12

Staying safe

Important

  • Cover the keypad when you type your PIN, and never write it on the card.
  • Ignore WhatsApp or SMS messages asking you to “update” your card on a link. Algérie Poste never asks for card data by message.
  • Only type card details on pages whose address ends in poste.dz, after checking you started from the real merchant site.
  • Do not lend the card. Family members can use cardless withdrawal from BaridiMob instead.
