Net salary calculator for Algeria 2026: IRG and CNAS
Enter a gross monthly salary to see the 9% social security, the IRG after abatements and the net pay, using the scale in force in 2026.
Your net pay in Algeria is the gross salary minus two deductions: the 9% employee contribution to social security (CNAS), then the income tax on wages (IRG), calculated on what is left. Salaries with taxable income up to 30,000 DA a month pay no IRG, and the tax rises gradually above that. The calculator below applies the rules of article 104 of the direct tax code, unchanged by the 2026 finance law.

From gross to net in three steps
- Social security: 9% of the gross salary goes to the CNAS.
- Taxable income: gross salary minus that 9%.
- IRG: the progressive scale applied to the taxable income, minus the abatement. Net pay is the taxable income minus the IRG.

The IRG scale on wages
The scale is set per year. Divided by twelve, it gives these monthly brackets, each rate applying only to the part of income inside its bracket.
- Up to 20,000 DA a month (240,000 a year): 0%
- 20,001 to 40,000 DA (up to 480,000 a year): 23%
- 40,001 to 80,000 DA (up to 960,000 a year): 27%
- 80,001 to 160,000 DA (up to 1,920,000 a year): 30%
- 160,001 to 320,000 DA (up to 3,840,000 a year): 33%
- Above 320,000 DA a month: 35%
03 Salary & tax
The 40% abatement and the 30,000 DA exemption
- The tax from the scale is reduced by 40%, with a minimum reduction of 1,000 DA and a maximum of 1,500 DA a month.
- Taxable income up to 30,000 DA a month pays no IRG at all.
- Between 30,001 and 35,000 DA, a second abatement smooths the jump: IRG = IRG after abatement × 137/51 − 27,925/8.
- Above 35,000 DA, only the 40% abatement applies.

Retirees and disabled workers
Retirees of the general regime and disabled workers (motor, mental, visual or hearing) get a wider smoothing band, from 30,001 to 42,500 DA: IRG = IRG after abatement × 93/61 − 81,213/41. Above 42,500 DA the normal calculation applies. Tick the option in the calculator, and untick the 9% for a pension.
FAQ Salary & tax
Frequently asked
How much IRG do I pay on a 50,000 DA salary?
On a gross salary of 50,000 DA, the CNAS takes 4,500 DA, leaving 45,500 DA taxable. The scale gives 6,085 DA, minus the 1,500 DA abatement: 4,585 DA of IRG, for a net salary of about 40,915 DA.
Did the 2026 finance law change the IRG on wages?
No. The 2026 finance law amended article 104 only for income from capital. The wage scale and abatements in force since 2022 still apply.
Is the calculation monthly or yearly?
IRG on wages is withheld every month by the employer, using the annual scale divided by twelve. The calculator works on a monthly salary.
An estimate for a standard monthly salary. Bonuses, allowances exempt from tax, overtime and sector rules can change your payslip; your employer’s payroll is the reference.
