The official nisab and how it is set

  • Last year: 1,615,000 DA = 85 g × 19,000 DA (announced July 3, 2025).
  • The nisab equals 20 gold dinars, which weigh 85 grams, valued at the 18-karat price.
  • Zakat is 2.5% (one fortieth) of cash or trade goods above the nisab, held for one lunar year. Trade goods are valued at market price on the day zakat is due.
