Economic Interest Group for Electronic Payments
Overview
GIE Monétique is the interbank body that sets the rules and security standards of Algeria's domestic card and mobile payment system. Created in 2014 by the banking association, it certifies e-merchants, approves companies that install and maintain card terminals, and runs the DZ Mob Pay interbank QR scheme launched in January 2025. It is also the main source of national payment statistics.
