Study abroad
Study in France from Algeria: the Campus France 2027 calendar step by step
To start studying in France in September 2027, Algerian students file on the Études en France platform this autumn. The deadlines are close: 30 November 2026 for most programmes and 15 December 2026 for a first-year licence.
Algerians who want to study in France apply through Campus France Algérie and its “Études en France” platform, which handles both the applications to French institutions and the file the consulate needs for the student visa. The 2027 campaign is open. You build a study project, prove your French level, pay the file fee, attend an interview, then choose among the admissions you receive. The student visa comes last, through France-Visas and Capago.

DAP or hors DAP?
DAP
Demande d’admission préalable, for a first year of licence at a public university or an architecture school. Needs the TCF with written expression.
Hors DAP
Everything else: second or third year of licence, professional licence, Master, engineering and business schools, BUT. Earlier deadline.
French level
- Tests at the Institut français d’Algérie: TCF with written expression (required for DAP), DELF/DALF, or TCF tout public.
- Minimum for the procedure: B1 at the TCF.
- Most institutions ask for B2.
- Humanities and social sciences: C1 strongly recommended.
- DELF B2 or DALF holders may be exempt from the test; check the list on Campus France.
Step by step
- Build a coherent study project: why this subject, why France, what next.
- Book and pass your French test early; test dates fill up in autumn.
- Create your account on Études en France with your passport and fill in your record: diplomas, transcripts, CV, motivation for each programme.
- Submit before the deadline and pay the file fee online within 48 hours.
- Book and attend your interview at Campus France.
- Receive the institutions’ answers, confirm your final choice before 31 May 2027 and have your documents authenticated.
- Apply for the student visa.
The interview
The Campus France adviser checks that your project holds together and that your documents are genuine, and writes an opinion that is attached to your file. Be ready to explain your path, your choices, how you will finance your studies and what you plan to do after. Speak in French and bring the originals of everything you uploaded.
Money
- Campus France file fee: amount and exemptions are published on Campus France Algérie.
- Proof of funds for the visa: France asks for at least €615 a month, through a bank guarantee, a transfer from a sponsor, or a scholarship.
- Tuition at public universities: non-EU students may pay higher “differentiated” fees, but many universities grant exemptions. Check each programme.
- Student long-stay visa: €50.
The student visa
Once you have confirmed your final choice, you apply for a long-stay student visa on France-Visas, using your Études en France reference, and hand in the file at Capago. On arrival in France, validate the visa online within three months; it then serves as your residence permit for the first year.
