National Unemployment Insurance Fund
Overview
CNAC is the public unemployment insurance fund, created in 1994. Besides paying insurance benefits to workers who lose their jobs for economic reasons, it has run a business-creation scheme for unemployed people aged 30 to 55, with loans co-financed by banks. It is a social security body, not a lender licensed by the Bank of Algeria.
