Air Algérie in 2026: book, pay and know your baggage allowance

How to book an Air Algérie ticket online, by phone or at an agency, which cards work from Algeria and from abroad, the Light, Standard and Flex fares, cabin and hold baggage, excess baggage prices, and refunds.

Air Algérie is the national airline and flies to more destinations from Algiers than any other carrier. You can book on its website and app, by phone on 3302, through Algérie Poste’s ECCP app or at an agency. What you pay, and what you can carry, depends on the fare you pick: the cheapest Light fare on France–Algeria flights comes without a hold bag.

Four ways to book

Website and app

airalgerie.dz and the Air Algérie app: choose the flight, the fare, then pay by card.

By phone

Since July 2026 you can book by calling 3302 (or +213 21 98 63 63) and pay remotely with Edahabia or CIB. The ticket is issued once payment goes through.

ECCP app

Algérie Poste’s app lets you search and pay Air Algérie and Domestic Airlines tickets from your phone.

Agency

Air Algérie offices and approved travel agencies, in Algeria and abroad. Some agencies offer payment in instalments, with their own fees.

Paying for the ticket

The card you can use depends on where you buy.

Turn on e-payment and get your online password before you start; a card without it is refused at the last step.
With Edahabia you can still buy up to about 5 hours before departure.
An unpaid booking is cancelled automatically, so pay straight away.

Light, Standard or Flex

Economy comes in three fare families. Compare them on the same flight before choosing, because the cheapest one can cost more once a bag is added.

Cabin baggage

One cabin bag up to 10 kg is included.
On ATR turboprops (short domestic hops) the limit drops to 5 kg.
Keep medicines, documents, money and electronics in the cabin bag.

Hold baggage: the piece system

Since late October 2023 Air Algérie counts pieces, not total weight. Each bag can weigh up to 23 kg and measure up to 158 cm (length + width + height). Your exact allowance is printed on the e-ticket.

A bag between 23 and 32 kg is accepted with a fixed surcharge at check-in.
A bag over 32 kg is refused at check-in and must go as cargo.
On A330-900neo flights to Montreal, Dubai, Doha and Guangzhou, Premium Economy was raised to 3 × 23 kg in February 2026.

Excess baggage prices

Buying an extra bag before the flight costs half the airport price.

From Spain or Italy, the first extra piece bought in advance was about 60 €.

Before you fly

Your name on the ticket matches your passport exactly.
Passport valid, and a visa if your destination needs one.
Baggage allowance read on the e-ticket, extra bags bought in advance.
Cash above the declaration limit declared at customs (see the cash limits guide).
Arrive early: Algiers and Paris check-in queues are long in summer and at Eid.

Changes and refunds

Flex fares are the ones made for changes; Light fares are the most restricted. For tickets bought online in Algeria, refunds go back to the card automatically within a set window, then by bank transfer.

Avoiding fake sellers

Important

Pay only on airalgerie.dz, in the official app, through ECCP, at Air Algérie offices or approved agencies.
Facebook pages selling “cheap Air Algérie tickets” against a transfer are a common scam.
A real booking has a six-character reference you can look up in “Manage booking”.

How many kilos can I take on Air Algérie?

A 10 kg cabin bag (5 kg on ATR aircraft), plus the hold bags of your fare: none on Light, one 23 kg bag on Standard and Flex between France and Algeria, two or three 23 kg bags in Premium Economy and Business.

Can I pay an Air Algérie ticket with Edahabia?

Yes, from Algeria, on the website, app, by phone (3302) or in the ECCP app, in dinars. Domestic Airlines flights accept only Edahabia and CIB.

Can I buy a ticket from abroad with a foreign card?

Yes, Visa and Mastercard work on the Air Algérie site from abroad, charged in the currency of the sales site.

How do I get a refund on a ticket paid online?

Within 6 months (Edahabia) or 12 months (CIB) the refund returns to the card automatically; after that it is paid by bank transfer.
