ExchangeDZ publishes Algerian dinar exchange rates, gold prices and market news on exchangedz.com and in the ExchangeDZ app for iOS and Android. You can use both without an account. This page explains what data is collected and why.
Data we collect
- Usage data: pages viewed, device type, browser, approximate country (from your IP address) and referring site, through Google Analytics and our own Umami analytics.
- Advertising data: Google AdSense on the website and Google AdMob in the app use cookies or your device advertising identifier to show and measure ads.
- Email address, language and the page you signed up from, if you join our email list.
- Name, email and billing details handled by our payment provider, if you buy access to the developer API.
- Server logs (IP address, time, requested address) kept for security and to keep the service running.
The mobile app
- The app has no account. Your language, favourite currencies and saved rates stay on your device.
- The app requests rates from exchangedz.com; these requests are logged like website visits.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob. In the EU, UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first. On iPhone, the app asks for permission before using your advertising identifier; you can refuse and still use the app.
- You can change your ad consent at any time under More > Ad privacy choices.
How we use data
- To provide and improve the website and app.
- To show ads, which keep the service free.
- To send the emails you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To protect the service against abuse.
We do not sell your personal data.
Third parties
Google (Analytics, AdSense, AdMob) processes data under its own policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Our hosting, email and payment providers process data only to provide their service to us.
Retention
Analytics data is kept for up to 26 months, server logs for up to 90 days, and email list data until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use, under Algerian Law 18-07 on personal data protection and, if you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR. Write to us at the address below and we will answer within 30 days.
Children
ExchangeDZ is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
